About Us
We are an enthusiastic group of Year 9 pupils from Haberdashers' Boys' School in Elstree, brought together by our shared passion for engineering, innovation, and sustainability. We are a student lead initiative deeply committed to the exciting challenge of designing, building, and racing an electric car for the highly anticipated Greenpower competition taking place this year. United by our collective dedication, we are working tirelessly to create a vehicle that showcases our skills and creativity, and contributes to a more sustainable future.
Our School
Our school, Haberdashers' Boys' School, has provided us with incredible facilities, as well as outstanding resources, to help us achieve our goal at the Greenpower Competition. From a fully equipped Design and Technology (DT) department to expert guidance from our dedicated teachers, we have access to everything we need to bring our vision to life. These opportunities allow us to push the boundaries of our engineering skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork, ensuring that we make the most of this unique and exciting challenge. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the school and our fantastic DT teachers, who have been instrumental in guiding us through this process.
Their continuous support, technical expertise, and encouragement have given us the confidence to take on this ambitious challenge. Without them, this project would not be possible. For over ten years, students have attempted to build a Greenpower car at our school, but unfortunately, it has never made it to the track. This year, we are fully committed to not only finishing the car but also ensuring that it is race-ready and competitive. By doing so, we aim to make history at Haberdashers' Boys' School, paving the way for future students to continue and build upon our success.
